Dr. VanLoon Presents for North Dakota Long Term Care Annual Convention
The ND Long Term Care Association asked Dr. VanLoon to offer a 90 minute presentation on "The Practice of Interpersonal Forgiveness in the Personal and Professional Lives of Health Care Workers" at their Annual Conference in May 2022 at the Bismarck Event Center.

Rocky Awarded Title of "Therapy Dog Excellent" by the American Kennel Club
On December 28, 2021 Rocky and Dr. VanLoon were awarded the title "Therapy Dog Excellent" by the American Kennel Club Therapy Dog Program in recognition of their 200th visit as a Therapy Dog team. Rocky actively visits several places each week including schools, hospitals, and other locations to bring smiles and happiness to the lives of people.

Rocky and his owner/handler visit several elementary schools on a weekly basis where children practice their reading skills with Rocky in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.

VanLoon Presents for Heartview Foundation
"Interpersonal Forgiveness: Healing the Unjust Pain of the Past" was the topic for Dr. VanLoon's presentation for the Heartview Foundation in Bismarck, ND. In the presentation, using Zoom video conferencing, VanLoon discussed what is forgiveness, why forgive, and strategies to practice forgiveness. Heartview Foundation also purchased copies of VanLoon's book, The Path to Forgiveness, for each of the participants.
Rocky Completes Service Dog Training
On June 30, 2020 Rocky completed several tests to become a Certified Service Dog through the Animal Psychology Center. The tests that Rocky and his owner/handler successfully passed include Basic and Advanced Obedience, Canine Good Citizen Training, Public Service and Socialization Skills, and the Public Service Access Test.

VanLoon Deployed with American Red Cross
Dr. Preston VanLoon was deployed with the American Red Cross in September 2019 as a Disaster Spiritual Care Volunteer to those affected by Hurricane Dorian. Dr. VanLoon was in Charleston, SC providing spiritual and emotional support to those living in shelters.

Pride of Dakota Recognizes The Path to Forgiveness
The Path to Forgiveness and The Path to Forgiveness Study Guide have been officially recognized as Pride of Dakota products. Pride of Dakota was created in 1985 by former Commissioner of Agriculture Kent Jones who asked a small group of North Dakota businesses and the Department of Agriculture's marketing staff to develop an identifiable state brand that would designate products as “made in North Dakota.”
Today, more than 500 member companies – ranging in size from large companies with more than 100 employees to “mom-and-pop” operations – participate in the program. Members include food and beverage companies, manufacturers, publishers, artisans, gift manufacturers and service providers. Pride of Dakota's goal is to provide local business owners the business development resources and marketing opportunities they need to be successful.

Offering Hope and Healing After Hurricane Harvey
In an article published by Inspired Woman magazine, Dr. Preston VanLoon shared about his experience as a Disaster Spiritual Care volunteer with the American Red Cross when he was deployed to Houston Texas after Hurricane Harvey. During his two weeks there, Preston worked in an American Red Cross shelter that provided refuge to approximately 700 people who were devastated by the hurricane.
